Orinda Academy was established in 1982 to serve kids who don’t thrive in standard high schools and middle schools. OA's founder—Ron Graydon—wanted to address various learning differences that make it hard for students to reach their potential in conventional classrooms, including students who find large campuses and classes overwhelming.
More than four decades later, Orinda Academy continues to be geared to individual needs, as well as engaging and adaptable to different learning styles. Our teachers know how to run engaging classrooms that meet the needs of students.
Four decades and hundreds of successful alumni are the legacy of Orinda Academy.
In the beautiful hills of the East Bay, Orinda Academy is an award-winning, accredited, independent school dedicated to creating a personalized learning environment for all students. Our graduates are equipped with the tools of self-advocacy and a love of learning, ready to change the world and make a difference.
